1986 Evinrude 150 Trim Motor Problem

Hello, I have an '86 Evinrude 150 on a '90 model Javelin bass boat. The trim motor goes on and off without touching the switch and the motor doesn't go up or down. When I touch the switch on the throttle handle, it does nothing. Can anyone help?

Disconnect, unplug the connector leading to the PTT switch. If that problem ceases to be (and I expect it will), replace the PTT switch.
