1986 Evinrude 50hp, suddenly no spark

My dads motor quit on the water while he was trolling. It just all of a sudden died and wouldnt start.

He pulled it home and I did some checking (as far as my knowledge goes) and its not showing spark on either cylinder. I disconnected the black wire with yellow strip (kill switch), still no spark. I was thinking maybe the switch went bad.

My next thought would be the power pack?

any other ideas / suggestions?

Might be a power pack, but there are other components to the ign system that could be defective. May pay to get a factory manual to trouble shoot the system.
