My 90 has problems stalling (sounds like it misses at low rpm's) it is tricky manuvering around a tight marina b/c it stalls. The motor, under power mid to WOT runs great, no noise and very strong. I checked the plugs, the coil pacs and for any arcing wires, no good. I also replaced the fuel lines and primer ball. What could it possibly be???

ve you run a decarb product thru the engine (i.e OMC Engine Tuner)? Carbon buildup will affect idle (as will a number of other faults).

I was having the same problem with my '88 90 hp evinrude. I read somewhere on here to remove the ball from the anti-siphon valve on the fuel tank (you have check valves in the primer bulb assembly anyway). I did this and ran OMC Motor Tuner thru the carbs and let sit for 6 hours, then ran it hard for 15 minutes - and what a difference. Now it idles great, starts with minimal choke, and doesn't smoke near as much as it was. Just follow the directions on the can!

What RPM's are you idling at? You might need to adjust it up a bit. It is best to set your idle speed while in gear and not neutral.

I will try the decarb, and check the sending unit in the tank.<br />As for the idle, it is pretty close to where it needs to be, it just sounds like it missing every now and again. (do you think the fuel pump could cause this? But it runs fine at mid to WOT)
