I have a 1986 Evinrude 150 that I am installing a binnacle mount throttle on. There are two wires for the neutral safety shut off switch and I'm having trouble finding the wires on the ignition harness to connect them to. There is no plug on the wires, I have to splice them. I have a wiring diagram for a later model Johnson/Evinrude that says there are two yellow/red wires but apparently the older model has only one yellow/red wire in the harness.

Can anyone help me out? Thanks

There is only one yellow wire with a red tracer in the harness. The neutral switch is inside the remote control, cut into the wire on the way to/from the "S" post on the ignition switch. http://www.maxrules.com/graphics/omc_pics/REMCONTBOX.jpg

You will need to add the connecting wire between the neutral switch and your ignition switch if it's not on your new remote control.
