Re: 1986 force 125 question

Sounds like it is starving for fuel on one or more cylinders.
Not good. Running lean means running hot, and Force motors don't last long if overheated.

Could be carbs, or a weak fuel pump, or an air leak in the fuel line.

I would do the carbs, put a new diaphram in the fuel pump, buy a new fuel line and bulb, and replace the fuel lines to the carbs.

The parts are cheap and it beats ruining and replacing the engine.

Thanks for the info.
Why fuel lines and bulb?
I didn't plan on installing a new fuel diaphragm, but that sounds like a good idea.

Re: 1986 force 125 question

If original, they are 19 years old, time to replace them. Rubber/plastic hoses crack, rot, can leak, can allow air to be sucked in. Bulb has a check valve in it, which can go bad.

As long as you are overhauling the fuel system, why not do it all and eliminate all possible trouble spots, and save yourself from a future fuel system failure.
