i have a 1986 force 125 yesterday was the first time on the lake with it. it turns very hard to the right when at power. i assume some of it is torque steer but should it be that hard. if i let go of the steering wheel it would do donuts as tight as it could. it was a bear just to keep it going straight. any ideas

I have the same problem. Did you get any responses? I think it is torque steer but could be my skeg is slightly bent of some dings or the keel of the boat.

try adjusting the exhaust snout under the lower unit. loosen the mounting screw and adjust. if your boat pulls to the right then turn the snout to the right, pulls left, turn snout left. retighten and test. This is adjustable to compensate for the torque of the motor

THANKS, but I did that with little effect. I have a center mount fuel tank and center console and a battery on either side.

i adjusted the exhuast too little effect i also thought maybe it was the way the boated was weighted but i have a center fuel cell and had everybody (5 people) sit to the left and it steered hard to the right
