Finally trued starting my force engine for first time, wont start.
I'm not getting spark on one cylinder.
I switched the coil with a known good one, still no spark on one cyl.

the "bad" coil has a brown wire, and a blue wire,
the "good" one has a white, and a blue
If I switch the wires between the two, my "bad" coil fires, but the "good" one doesnt...

The brown wire runs up under the flywheel, not sure where its connected under there.

What does this usually mean?
please, any help is very much needed thanks

As you say if you swap wires to the coil the issue moves, the problem is under the flywheel.
Take the flywheel off, clean the points and cap to 015. Normaly this will solve the problem.
Check for insulted wires that can be grounded.
You have a old school battery ign.system (without distributer), similar to an old car.
The system contents 2 points, 2 capacitors and 2 ign.coils.
Maybe the capacitor can be shorted, but that is not common.

what do you mean by capacitor?
The condenser?

I belive I have a stator also...It... woukd still be points and condenser setup right?

Yes you have a stator. That's what charges the battery as you run.
The capacitor is the condenser.
Take the flywheel off and clean the contacts. They need to be REALLY clean and shiny.
Sand them or file. Then check for continuity.
Get a manual.
For parts.
Try Franz marine.
Or Valley sales in Prudenville,Mi.
Both on the net
One or the other should have what you need.

This thread is old but hopefully you guys are still active.
I have the same engine and I cannot find the part number or the CDI box on my engine.
Engine starts on first crank and runs but only on cylinder 2. I have ordered new coils and a rectifier.

Please start your own new thread.
This one is 7 years old.

BTW we need to know what kind of ignition system your engine has.
They use 2 or 3 type of systems in those years.
You are talking about CDI box BUT the one who started this thread had battery ignition system.....no CDI box.
