1986 gt150 tach

1986 gt150 tach quite working will I was out looked did not find any wires off what might be the next steep to try looked like there was three wires in back of the tach thank you

The tach operates off the rectifier. If it's (the rectifier) bad, the tach won't work. Use a volt meter and check the battery voltage with the engine running and not running. The voltage should be higher with the engine running. If it's not, the rectifier needs replacing.<br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty
