Hi
Does anyone have experience with upgrading a twostroke Johnson 40hp to 60hp. My local dealer say it will run easier and use less gas. But will the engine suffer from it?

Also, at which rpm is it rated 40hp? And what is max rpm for Johnson 40 hp (thinking of installing tachometer)

Thankful for any help!
Bjornar

I hope you mean you are changing motors from 40 hp to a 60 hp. Because there is no way I know of to get 60hp out of a 40hp motor.

Howdy, Bjonar.

There were 40, 50 and 60 hp engines built on the same basic block, but the cost of converting a 40 to 60 specs would be a lot greater than just tracking down and buying a 60.

Good luck. :)
