1986 johnson 70hp battery ?

hello....just wondering what the maximum distance is that I can locate my starting battery from my motor and still get proper charging and starting capability.I'm looking at a spot about 6 feet from the motor....thanx

I don't see where 6 feet would be a problem. The ones in my boat with a 91' 70 HP, are about 4 feet away and it does fine with 6 Gauge wire. Just make sure the cables are large enough if you have to replace them...<br /><br />ancorproducts.com/Technical_information/Wire_calculator.php
