It's model J120TLCDC.

i attached a clip of the parts layout.... it's #37 in the picture. what way does the moveable piece go into the control valve assembly? nipple Up? or Down? Basically i'm looking for some reassurance here.

i had a slow water leak so i disassembled and didn't take note which direction i removed it (ooops, i know rookie move). i believe it should be down but not 100%.

Cheers

well everything seems to be running fine, no high temp alarms. so i am assuming i installed the correct way.

I did find that in a tank the starboard a cylinders seem to be running 20 deg F hotter... i had the heads off and checked all the passages with weed eater twine, i even replaced the thermostats (they were original, and i got a good deal) nothing really to explain the temperature difference except the port thermostat feeds to the starboard then to the water spout. anybody have any thoughts?

The starboard bank is often said on here to run hotter, ive found that out on one i look after for some friends here.
ive never understood why but that seems to be normal operations for it
Getting an absolute temp will let you know if its abnormal, it should never get above 170deg F.

Thanks Bosunamate, the starboard bank is pretty steady 143-160 deg F after a full throttle run (Port 126- 138). at idle the difference is a little more. but thanks everything is running really well and all passages are clear.

Looks like it's time to stop worrying, do some fishing it's almost bourbon slurpee weather
