Trying to figure out what the five wires are about off of the stock tach harness. It is off of a pigtail plug and I have:
Black - Ground
Purple - Has 12v when key switch is on. (is this ign or nav?)
Grey - Send
Brown/White - ????
Peach colored - ???? This one also has 12v when key switch is on. (so ign or nav?)
I'd also like to know does it matter on the tach whether I hook the purple or the peach color to ign as long as it sees 12v either way. I rewired my boat a couple of years back and this motor was just recently purchased so I was planning on running a jumper from the fuse block nav lights to the tach light and capping what I figured was the navagation power from the tach harness.
