1986 Mercruiser Engine dies

Hello,
Da boat: 1986 Cruisers VeeSport, equipped with two Mercruiser 230s and updated with alpha 1 gen 2 outdrives.
Da problem: Turn the helm all the way to port and the port engine dies.

The death is quick - that says electrical to me.
The death happens only on the port side; when the outdrive is in gear or not in gear; with or without the starboard motor running; and, once I turn the helm back toward starboard, the port motor fires up like nothing happened.

So far, I have looked and not found anything obvious along the actuator assembly or in and around the helm rack and pinion (?).

There is a reward for information leading to prosecution and conviction of this scoundrel :)

Thank you.

Check your electrical connections. Disconnect your shift interrupt switch and see if it still happens...

Good Evening Mr. Alpheus,
Thank you for helping me work at this puzzle.
You lost me on your second suggestion; my port engine cuts off whether I'm in fwd, neutral, or reverse. Can you school me a little on your logic there.
Thank you.

Ayuh,.... Sounds like you're down to the Shake, Wiggle, 'n Pull Tests....

Points of Interest might be the shift switch mentioned,...
The Cannon Plug at the motor, 'n the Grounds,... All of 'em...

get 2 people and while 1 is turning the wheel, have the other look at the shift plate where the T/S cables go. See if it's moving or not.
