Hello everyone, the flywheel magnets on the motor that came with my boat came off and the last owner gave me the magnets. I made a thread about this before but since then I made a terrible accident and dropped one of the magnets. Shattered. I pulled the flywheel and I could have glued them back but obviously one is broke and I dont think it's even possible to obtain another. So my question is my only option to purchase another flywheel? I believe the flywheel is part #242-7912A12 I think the cheapest one on ebay is like a whopping $200! Just a frusterating situation. If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated.....I also just had a couple little questions. I did a compression test tonight and went good, but I went to turn over the motor and the ignition got stuck on even when I took the key out I had to disconnect the terminal to stop the starter, not good. I jimmied the switch around and it seemed to work okay again hut that makes me nervous. Any help would be appreciated thank you.

A good used flywheel will show up at a better price, just keep looking.----Or a whole motor at that price.----Your location does matter I suppose.

Yeah I was kinda thinking that too, but my particular flywheel seems to be pretty sparse and pricey, on ebay at least. I live in southern wisconsin I've been searching for parts. No luck yet. Just sucks I have one magnet and not the other. Now just have a basically useless flywheel. But it is what it is. I will keep looking. Hopefully it will turn up soon. Thanks for the input!

I'm sure you're right. I only said that becusse there are only like 1 or 2 available on Ebay at the moment for like 200 each. I bought my boat and motor for 350 lol. Just gotta be patient and find one for decent price. I'm sure I can find one around southern Wisconsin eventually. Thanks for your input.

Maybe you could PM racerone and pick his brain about where some may be hiding.

Good or bad idea racerone ?

Thanks for the help guys. I found a guy about an hour away on craiglist with parts. He said theres a chance he has one and he will get back to me later this week. 50 bucks if he has one. That's alot better than 200. I will be sure to check that list of salvage yards. Thank you.

Here are some pictures of my flywheel where the magnets came/broke off. Is this worth anything more than scrap metal without the magnets?
