I have installed new stator, rectifier, plugs, fully rebuilt carbs, all new fuel lines and fuel cell. I noticed today that I had water around the spark plugs.. Could this affect the way my motor runs??? I know the gasket leaks but how can it get inside the cylinders?? I also had water leaking out of my lower cowling??? Any help would greatly be appreciated

No water can't get in the cyls. from a leaking water jacket cover if the spark plugs are in the holes but if it leaks bad enough to fill the bottom cowl up to #4 plug the engine will miss.

its not leaking that bad. I have always owned johnson and evinrude engines and I know a leaking gasket can cause this however I noticed the leak so I was more than willing to see if it might be the culprit.. I have installled several new parts as mentioned before. now 400 bucks later and the problem is the same.. I am at a loss for thoughts!! The only parts I have not replaced are the switch box, coils, and trigger?? It fires on all cylinders but thats all I can say..
