So last season on my last trip out, I noticed that my bilge was constantly pumping out a LOT of water. I checked again this season after re-applying silicone to the depth finder holes I made, and still leaking a lot. After watching the engine for a while I noticed that it leaks from a part right behind a crankshaft pulley while the engine is running, and also for a couple minutes after the engine is running. The water is cool while running, and turns hot after the engine is killed. It does not leak if the boat is just sitting in the water without the engine on. There are 2 hoses connected to the part. It's a 1986 Volvo penta sx. 432apwxs. Is this part the water pump assymbly? Tried posting pics, but cant here for some reason. Will keep trying.

Welcome aboard spence:

Is it an OMC or a Volvo? Kinda' confused there. Buuuuuuuut ... sounds like a water circulation pump to me.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,..... I think Southkogs might be right, in that yer callin' the water pump pulley the crank shaft pulley,.....

The crank shaft pulley has oil behind it, the Circulatin' Water Pump, has water behind it,....

If so,..... Get yerself a new circulatin' water pump, 'n change it out,.....
On a scale of 1 to 10, the job is 'bout a 2,....

Probably wouldn't hurt to change yer belts at the same time,.....
