Hi all, I've been lurking on this forum a while now...lots of helpful info. Anyhow I bought a fixer upper 19ft alumacraft with the prov 150 on it. Took it out for a quick test run, runs good, idles like crap but it had been sitting for 2 years. Doing some maintenance on it, cleaned the carbs, fuel pumps, new impeller ect. I hear they are pretty reliable motors, plugs are burning real nice but I havn't been able to do a compression test on it cause of el cheapo guage.

Anyhow while looking everything over I noticed a red lead coming from the oil tank on the motor was broke. This lead leads to the thermo switch. What was broke is a diode or resistor, I can't tell the two apart. It is small, blue and white, and was covered in shinkwrap. It has quick disconnects on both sides of it. I've looked in my manual and havn't seen anything, looked up parts diagrams and havn't seen anything. I thought maybe it is part of of the switch but I'm not sure. I've looked at it under a magnifying glass and can't see any id on it. Any ideas?

its difficult to find, most parts diagrams wont sho it but go by a dealer and have them look for the tech bulliten on it.

I will do that. Looked at it again and it ties the red wire coming off the oil tank to both thermal switches, not just the one like I had thought.

Well I called a place who found it in the tech bulletin, and they want 74 for it. Does that sound right? The guy I was talking too said that the bulletin related to microfiche not showing it very well. I keep looking at the oil tank and think its 6G5-81315-00-00 part 39.
