Hi
have a Suzuki DT115 2 stroke that is approx 1986.

New engine to me about 3 months ago, been out for a couple of test runs and get the Alarm or buzzer after about 5 mins of running at mid revs.

  • Impeller replaced recently
  • Strong Telltale
  • No throttling back of engine to 3k rpm

My understanding of this engine is that it has 2 sensors, one for oil amount in the 2 stroke tank and one for enginer temperature.
Have checked the oil sensor and that seems to be working fine so suspect a faulty temp sensor as the engine runs fine even when the alarm is on and I could run it at 5k if I wanted to (but havent until I work out what is wrong.
The pics below show what I think is the enginer temp sensor (ive disconnected the wires)

Two questions
a) Is this the temp sensor?
b) How do i get it out (looks pretty stuck into me!)

Thanks for any help
