1987 125hp exhaust gasket sealant?

Water is squirting from exhaust port plate (inside engine compartment). Manual shows two gaskets to replace.

Is any sealant needed or are these replaced dry? If sealant is needed, recommendations on type/brand/manufacturer? Clymer manual doesn't say anything about using a sealant.

The motors I have and have rebuilt have always had and I have used a good silcone sealer. Better to be safe than sorry.Clymer isin't always the best source for info.Jerry
