Tazatax.... Trace the wires from the PTT electric motor back towards the relay box. You'll find a plug in connector, unplug it. The electric motor is a dual polarity motor, meaning if it runs in one direction, reversing the wires will make it run in the opposite direction.

With the connector unplugged, run two small jumper wires from the battery to that connector which leads to the PTT motor. If the PTT motor runs as it should, the problem is elsewhere. If it does nothing (and you're sure you have proper voltage), the electric motor is faulty.

Yep, I would have to agree with Joe, To help you find the wires when it comes to the trim just remember the grass is "GREEN" & the sky is "BLUE"

Green for down
Blue for up

Tazatax.... You won't find a part number on the item itself, you would need the parts manual. Contact me with exactly what you need and I'll supply you with the part number. (ReevesJ32@aol.com)

indydan and joe reeves,
Thanx for all the info. turned out the old trim motor developed a hole on the transom side and couldn't handle the extra lubrication.
Glad i found this forum, its amazing what can happen when minds pull together.
