Does anyone know if my 1987 Evinrude has alcohol resistant fuel lines? I ask because I lived in Indiana (a farm state) in the late 1970s and early 1980s and alcohol (ethanol?) was in the gas by the early 1980s I believe. So is it possible OMC designed their engines with ethanol in mind by 1987?

Re: 1987 200 HP Fuel Line vs Ethanol

You are safe to go. I have a 1986 Johnny 140hp and the factory service manual for our motors. According to the manual (section 2, page 4), 86 octane and quote "any automotive gasoline or a gasoline with no more than 10% Ethanol". OMC did upgrade the rubber in our motors to accept Ethanol fuels in 1986.
