1987 40 hp evinrude manual start - WILL NOT START

I can not start my 40 HP manual start evinrude. There is no spark to the spark plugs. This is the first time this has ever happened and it has always started on the 2nd or 3rd pull. I suspect it may be in the "KILL" switch but don't know how to trouble shoot it, any help is appreciated.

If you can find the wires on the kill switch simply unhook one wire and give it a try.

CBPEN98,<br /><br /> Model numbers are good things to have for correct info. You most likley have a C.D. 2 ignition "power pack". They often fail like that with no warning at all. Rule out the stop switch first. Good luck
