1987 50 hp trim sending unit

Hi. I would like to hook up my new to me 50 hp 3cyl motor to my boats trim gauge. I called mercury and they said that there is not one available. Do anyone know of any that would work? I did call a few minutes before quitting time so I am still hopeful . Thank you

I don’t think there was such a thing for those vintage. You would need to retrofit. Personally I wouldn’t bother. There will likely be a way though, if you’re keen
