So the boat ran great on the muffs and when we launched about a month ago. We installed a new voltage regulator/rectifier combo this year and it seemed to run smoother than last year and with less smoke. It had 1/4 tank of fuel and I added another 30 gallons fresh to bring it up to a little over half a tank. I ran it Mother's Day in crappy weather and probably a little over loaded. I was having issues getting the bow out of the water but was assuming that was a matter of improper loading and heavy chop. The motor was fine that day. My next trip was about a week ago. It took a couple turns of the key to fire which was a little different but didn't think much of it. It seemed to be smoking more than usual. After about a minute of idling it died in the slip. It took a little playing with the throttle to get it to start and again we had lots of white smoke. Backed out of the slip and it died again. We motored out of the marina maybe 2-3 minutes to where we were going to fish and cut off the motor. After maybe 8-10 minutes my first mate got bored so we got ready to come back in. It took what seemed like five minutes or so to get started. It almost seemed flooded and I had to open the throttle all the way to get it to start. It ran rough and died pulling into the slip.

If haven't been back out yet, but any thoughts? Its almost like there is excessive oil in the fuel. I'm running premix at 50:1 as the oil injection was removed before I bought the boat.
