Hi all,
I am currently trying to clean out and rebuild my carbs (model WMA 6) on my 1987 Mercury Classic 50 . I am working on the top carb and have just taken it off the engine. (By the way they certainly are well hidden behind a number of components). Anyway unlike other cabs (lawnmower & wiper snipper) the float pin won't budge. I have tried pulling it out with pliers, I have tried to twist it with pliers, thinking that it may be screwed in but I still can't move it. On lawnmower carbs you just pull it out and it comes out easily.
I am thus stuck, I need to remove the float to properly clean and rebuild - please help!! I don't want to force things in case It damages something.
I admit that I am no expert and that your help will be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards, Kevin
