I have a 1987 evinrude 110. When my fast idle lever is in the full upright position, Should the butterfly valve on my carb. still be closed?
I had a hard time starting the motor, ended up flooding it. Few hours later I tried normal starting procedure (Squeeze primer bulb, idle lever half open, push in key to prime 5-10 seconds.) After three unsuccessful tries, I took off the air cover, stuck a screw driver in the carb. throat to open the butterfly valve, and it started right up.
Next day - same thing. So the question I have is:
When my fast idle lever is in the full upright position, Should the butterfly valve on my carb. still be closed?
Thanks in Advance.
