1987 Evinrude 15 HP Stop Running

I have a 1987 15 HP Evinrude, recently perform a water impeller service. Used the motor a couple of times and it ran great, took it out about 5 miles the other day and it decided not to start & I had to get towed in.

Had plenty of fuel and the motor ran until I turned it off, it does have the safety lanyard and it was connected.

Any help would be appricated, need to get back on the water.

what have you checked? start with the easy stuff, spark, compression, the color of plugs, are they wet, dry? post results.
