See my topic about adding a pee-hole type tell tail to a Force. The water spritzes out of those holes like an atomizer when idling, but I don't know what it does at WOT because I'm too busy steering the boat to crawl back there and find out LOL! As I understand it, most of the cooling water is expelled in the exhaust which of course is under water where you can't see it. I assume that water comes out the holes as a fine spray at WOT - someone else may know more about this. If your engine runs OK and you have a new impeller and your overheat doesn't sound off your probably OK.

thanku for taking the time to answer my question,i was told that the 2 holes in the back r for exhaust relief not water relief,as for looking at the back of the motor when running WOT,i stick the old lady back there to look...LOL thanks again

I bought a project boat last December that has an '87 Force 125 on it. Very little water would spit out of the holes in the back at idle when on the hose. I asked around and was also told that very little water would come out. Not knowing its maintenance history, I figured I would replace the water pump and thermostat.

I discovered that there was no thermostat installed, and the overheat horn had been disconnected. Installed new thermostat and water pump kit. Now water pours out of the holes when on the hose.

I think a lot of us are runnung with worn out impellers. I change mine every other year.
