Replaced the prop shaft bearing and seals and inspected the gears. Need a hand installing the prop shaft while engaging the shift yoke and cradle on the shift dog. Does the pivot need to be installed during this process? How is this done?

Thanks, I think I'm ahead of the game since I didn't take the yoke out; it's still attached to the shift rod.

Re: 1987 Johnson 9.9 Installing shift yoke

Had to get a new detent balls since the original ones flew away during disasssembly. The spring seems to be too long since it's as long and the prop shaft is wide and the detent balls are sitting outside the prop shaft. I'm not sure I can keep the detent balls in place when the prop shaft is installed into the clutch dog. It's really difficult to slide the clutch dog by hand.
