1987 Mercruiser 3.0 water pump

Hello all,

I am new to to these forums. This seems to be the place to get all the answers. I have an 1987 GM Inline 4 cyl 3.0 and I just changed out the lower unit water pump. The impeller was shot. Well now I only have water coming out of the starboard side of the unit and there is barely water coming out of the small hole on the bottom of the unit. I have good water flow out of the port side. Am I supposed to have water flowing out of both sides?

Any suggestions

How do you backflush the system to remove any impeller pieces?

Remove the Lower unit again,........

Pull the Hose, that comes from the outdrive, Off at the T-Stat Housing,+ Hook the garden hose There.....
To the Hose, Not the T-Stat housing.......
