1987 rinker floor and stringer question

Does rinker use wood stringers full length? The floor is completely torn out and it appears that there is 3/4 in plywood or stripping on top of the stringers. This stripping was saturated pretty good so I removed them. I will be re glassing this stripping. However my question is, what is the construction of the stringers. There is raised glass where the stringers are. Roughly 4in x6 in or so bit it is filled with foam.... Is there wood umder the foam, dhould I tear into the boat any more or fix it from here up or toss it and find a new boat.

if i remember corectly it is just a foam filled fiberglass stringer

sorry i dont know.......lol

but.......take a core sample by drilling into the stringer...is it wood....or foam......if the foam is wet inside the stringer....dont worry.....the fiberglass is the stringer.,...the foam is just the shape they needed to shoot glass over...the amount of water thats in the foam stringer is only about 10 pounds worth.

if the stringer is wood.....then the wood is the stregnth....not nesserairly the glass.....so if the wood is rot...it has to come out.

as far as ditching the project....if you want a project....that is a good one......but if you want to be boating next week.......well.......

"The 170 and 180 models had fiberglass stringers instead of wood stringers. The 190 may have had fiberglass stringers but I do not remember for sure"
