If the 1985 manual is an OMC YES.Aftermarket NO.<br />There were a few years OMC compiled ALL Hp's into one manual.Hard to work with,not easy to find what you want.But for those years,it was the best available.<br />But there will be some discrepancies between the years,and the 1987 manual is specific to your engine,and therefore better.(it doesn't cover 2 hp thru v6).<br />One other thing you might want to find is a service bulletin about 1987 70 motors stalling,bogging down,etc.Too many years ago for me to remember it all,but it was an improved sync <br />link over the manual.Maybe leaving 1/32 or so between the cam and roller.......<br />Sorry to be lenghthy but I do that at times.<br /><br />DHP
