1987 trim/tilt pump

I'm 'rebuilding' my freebie 35HP mercury outboard (1987). So far, I've managed to get the lower unit off and will replace the impeller.<br /><br />I also know that it turns over fine and sparks are strong on the plugs.<br /><br />I tested the trim/tilt..hear the solenoid just fine...but the trim pump wasn't making a sound and was getting hot. So, today I took it off with help from my cousin. As it turns out, the brush plate is broken and the whole thing was rather messy. The coil, casing, etc. were salvagable (some sanding and it looks like new).<br /><br />Now, I checked the Mercury Marine Parts Express page and it turns out that exactly that part is "NLA" - i.e. "Not longer available"<br /><br />My OB Serial # is: 0b285024 and the part I need is part #13506, the "BRUSH CARD KIT"<br /><br />In the worst case, I'll trake to make one out of fiberglass cloth and epoxy, using alternator or starter brushes...but if I could get this part..it would be much better <br /><br />Anyone have any tips where I might get this part?
