I purchased this boat with an older 1974 85 h.p. 2 stroke outboard. Since i cannot find enough info on this boat. What would be the largest h.p. outboard i can install?

You might be able to find some information on your boat on the link above. Compare width and length to try and ID your boat.

Did you look for a capacity plate on your hull? Sometimes they are hidden from plain view.

My limited info indicates the Sportfisher is a 20' I/O at 3040 lbs. 175 hp.
The outboard rating would likely be less. Being as old as it is you should be sure the transom is in good shape.

I appreciate your answer! I will certainly research the site.
one would think that even though the company went out of business basic info on the boats they manufactured would still be available?
Also, the capacity plate is visible but has no h.p. rating? Weird because every boat i have ever owned had this rating.

Thanks! I checked out the link but found nothing on this boat? All of the other boats that carry that name were there. I find it hard to believe that the hull # wouldn't come up with something. Thanks again.
