1988 2.3 need help wiring electric fuel pump!!

SO i just finished my 2.3 engine swap on my boat and I installed a electric fuel pump.I just don't know how to wire it in. I have the relay set up but what can i use to energize the relay. what comes on when you crank/run ??? cant i go off the back of the alt? or coil? i don't want power all time only when cranking and running.

What pump? A marine pump should be used in the boat.
They are like adding a bomb to your bilge.
