On Sat., I experienced a problem with my trim/tilt motor. I tried to drop it down to leave the dock, but it would not go down. The trim motor does not make any noise at all. when I toggle the switch up/down I can hear the relays clicking. There is no fuse, the relays look good, and I'm getting 12.25 volts on the up and down lead to the trim motor. The batteries are charged, and the fluid is full, no leaks. I was able to turn the relief screw on the side enabling the motor to come down to the top of the trim range, but that is as far as it will go down. The motor runs fine and there does not seem to be any other problems. Any thought on what the problem is or something I can check? Or at least find a way to get the motor down to trim so I can use it untill the season is over. :(

Inside the motor cover you should see two (about 1" square, 3" long) selonoids next to each other, near the top. Not sure on your motor...just look around. I would switch one for the other (just pull out). If the motor now goes down but not up, it's the selonoid (about$15.00). I assume you do not have a switch (up/down) on the motor? If you do, give it a try...if it works then it is the other switch that is bad. ;)
