My trim gauge is not working, so I checked the wiring and I have a yellow wire that runs from the "S" terminal all the way back to the stern and ends with a flat round connector, but not connected to anyting. So I pull my manual and other wiring diagrams I have and one shows that this wire should connect to the #10 post in the harness connector. So I pull off the harness connector and I have no 10....just 1-8. Another manual shows that the trim sender comes to a "block"...two black wires, but one has a purple sleeve. I have found these wires. Do I hook the yellow wire coming from the gauge to this black wire with purple sleeve together at the block? I am concerned that it may be wrong and I do not want to arc it or worse burn wires, etc....or fire
