ok so i am trying to remove the starter to get to a fuel leak behind it in my 1988 60Hp Johnson j60tlccr. I removed the two easy bolts but the last one is buried behind some other stuff. Is there an easy way to get to it without removing to much stuff. Also on the other side there is this valve that is broken where can i get this part. I included some pics. Pic one is the front of the starter, pic two is from the opposite side of the hidden bolt, and pic 3 is of the valve. also anyone know the spark plug type off hand?

You might be able to get to #3 with a very flexible 1/4" drive socket and swivel. Otherwise, carb's come off.

The component you show as "broken" is the fuel enrichment solenoid. It replaces the Choke butterflies. It is defintely needed and leaving it open will cause a lean burn. Read: Melted pistons. You can get one here on iboats. See information to follow.

The "Normal" position for the red lever is folded back against the body of the solenoid.

Primer assembly part #: 0397909

That is a genuine OMC/BRP part. I'm sure the fine folks at iboats can convert it. Call: 800-914-1123
