1988 85 hp carb issue

hey guys
i just started my boat today and soon as it started it shot fuel from the bottom carb the gas was pumping out from the side of the carb thourgh a small hole its hard for me to explain but on the side of the carb it looks like two small holes one on top of the other it is comming out of the top one i know the holes are sopose to be there cause all 3 carbs have the same holes but only the bottom carb is leaking

That hole is a vent hole to keep the bowl at atmospheric pressure. Fuel level is too high if it is squirting out that hole. The float may be stuck or the needle may be bad. Remove the carb, disassemble it,clean it and inspect float level and needle and seat condition.

The float should be level with the carb casting when the carb is inverted. While upside down, you should not be able to blow air through the inlet with only the weight of the float pressing on the needle.

Needle for sure. Pic of good and bad side by side. Little fuzzy but the red one failed. Easy inexpensive fix.
