Hello to all on forum. I have a 1988 Bayliner Bass 18 foot boat, and i am in process of fixing the problems and making it usable once more.

I purchased the boat for 800 bucks with a 1970 evenrude 115 motor on it. The owner took the force 125 off due to no compression. anyway this motor runs like a dream and I have added CMC power tilt and trim to the boat also. I have a few soft spots in the floor, mostly just around the area in the center hatch. When you open the hatch you can see the very bottom of the boat. this wood is soft about 3 inches around this opening and after that its fine.

any suggestions on this repair, it looks to me that the consoles are molded into the upper part of the boat so would I need to seperate and remove the top part of the boat??? just to fix some wood...

All fiber glass is in good condition, gel coat is fading a bit but used "costa coat" www.costacoat.com and it is shiney and nice looking now.

added some windshields from upd plastics, took out old out of date dept finder and cb radio and replaced with modern ones.

my next quesiton is this boat is a wring nightmare???

anyone have experience with this vintage bayliner for wiring?

thanks

i can post some pics up here later.

I have the same boat. I brought up all the top decking on mine. Wasn't really hard but I would recommend tearing up the carpet first. I still have the 125 Force on mine. The picture on my profile is when I bouth it about and 11/2 ago. Good luck I am still working out the kinks on mine. Put it in the water for the first time and something was leaking in the back. Don't think I had the plug in all the way.
