I have a 3.0 OMC on my Bayliner. i have had it out running on the river and it has started bogging down while under way. The first time it did it, i thought fuel. I took all the fuel out and filled up the tank with new. I changed the anti-siphon valve, fuel filter in the pump, and the little filter before the carb. Took it out on the water and ran it for an hour or so at various speeds. We parked on a beach and the kids played for about 30 minutes. Got back in and it wouldn’t start. It turned over fine and it tried to start, but died. It took about 15 key cycles and it finally started. We got underway and I was able to get it up on plane and to about 25mph. At WOT the RPMs didn’t go over 2500. Book says it’s supposed to be hitting 4500. While underway for 15 min, the engine just all of a sudden started dying, then quit. After a few tries it restarted and we made it back to the launch and trailered it. Brought it home and it sat for a week without starting. Took it out to the river yesterday, backed it in and it would not start. When you turn the key, it fires up and then immediately dies. Took off the flame arrestor, used starting fluid and it would not start. Took off the linkage cable and manually moved the accelerator and 2 streams of gas shot into the carb. I played with the choke in various positions with nothing helping. I held the accelerator to the floor and it started, revved really high, then died. Nothing i did worked. I checked the shifter position, the operator kill switch, but that is all i could think of. Help please!!!
