1988 BlackMax XR4 150hp float

Hi Gents
The manual shows to adjust float level so the float protrudes 1/16" out of bowl when inverted. The floats I have are plastic and have a hump on their topside. Would I measure to the highest point of the hump, or to the outer edge of the float?
