Hello All

I am a totally newbie to the boating world. I just retired and bought a used deck boat and desperately need help.

1. My engine is a 1988 evinrude 140hp 2 stroke I cannot find what the gas/oil ratio is can anyone help. Tried to get owners Manuel but the sites are full of bologna

2. It is on a 1994 hurricane deck boat and i cannot find any information on this boat please help :)

I plan on taking a coast guard class before I put it on the water.
When I got it the engine would bog at full throttle. The mechanic cleaned the carb and changed the fuel line. Says it will work now When he started it it turned on and when he gave it gas it worked.

Any and all advice and or information will be greatly appreciated.

The boat is in pretty good shape too. I am so excited.

Thanks and all have a blessed day

Welcome to Iboats, your boats fuel ratio is 50:1. As far as model specific info for your boat you may want to contact the manufacturer for an owners manual for the boat. You may want to check the sticky's at the start of the forum here, alot of good information in them.

Re: 1988 evinrude 140hp

Ratio is 50:1 for premix. Use 87 or 89 US Octane Gasoline to TC-W3 oil.

The correct factory service manual is part # 507664. You can buy them from the printer here: http://www.outboardbooks.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=search.main

BTW, the owner's manual is fairly useless if you plan to do your own maintenance, so get the service manual. Searayman13 has a used one listed on Ebay - item 200337676889.

what he said, the owner manula is a waste of $40.
Everything is in the service manual.
Don't waste money on seloc or clymer either.
