I have a 1988 evinrude 60hp that I replaced the the lower unit. The problem that I am having is, the motor runs fine, but when I go to put it into gear the motor die's. I know the lower unit is not lockup and it spins. Any ideas
welcome to iboats. did you set idle on muffs, and trying to run it in the water? if so set idle high, then shift into gear, and set the idle speed, should be around 650-700 in the water in gear.
