While fiddling with my stuck-in-forward gear problem, I learned that this engine has a primer choke. I had not heard of this before. I have seen primer buttons on weedeater and leaf blower carbs before but not on an outboard. It looks like you pull the choke lever half-way out to do the normal choke and then pull from 1/2 to all the way, perhaps a few times, to prime the carb before starting. I always wondered whey it took a half dozen or so pulls to get this thing started but apparently I was only giving it one prime pump when pulling the choke out. Do any of you have any experience with this system? I inherited this engine from my grandpa years ago but didn't get an owners manual with it. Anybody know where to get one online? I'd rather not purchase it but if it's available online for reading, that'd be ok.
Thanks,
Wood
