I have a 1988 Evinrude 88SPL.When I trim the motor up while Im not moving the motor slowly lower back down <br />until it stops at the bottom.While under power in the water it lowers very quickly.There are no visible leaks from <br />the unit.I am pretty new to outboards, what else should I check?I just recently got the boat from a close friend.<br />He had something fixed on the trim about 6 months ago.It had completely quit working altogether.I dont know<br />what exactly the problem was then but I know he took one of the hydraulic cylinder things(where you put the<br />fluid)off & took it to have it repaired.I know it wasnt replaced because the thing doesnt look new at all, must <br />have had it rebuilt or something.I'll have to get in touch with him when he gets back in town to see what he<br />had done.Any tips would be appreciated
