All,

This engine runs great after its warmed up and compression is good. However, when its cold, the #1 cylinder doesn't fire. I've moved the ignition coils around and the problem stays at #1. Any thoughts?

Do the same with the plugs & ignition wires as the next step.

be sure to check the amphenol connectors that come out of the pack. if u swapped coils/wires and still no spark on the same cly. then it's probably the pack. however i'm not sure if this engine has 4 seperate trigger coils. i do know i've never seen a trigger on an 88slp fail. i'd bet on the pack. do u have a peak voltage meter?

Thanks guys. Yes, I've replaced the plugs and wires, no difference. If its the pack, does it make sense that it would run fine when its warm? Amphenol wires? (pardon my ignorance).
I've got a voltmeter, its a piece of crap from Radioshack though and won't record a peak.
