Hi I have a 1988 Evinrude 90HP Model number CE90TLCCA I'd like to convert it to a extra long 25 " shaft. I'm converting a old Sangster from inboard to outboard. Plan is to beef up the transom attach it to stringers ect., build a splashwell in front, and hang my outboard off the transom.
But I'd like to find that Extra long shaft drive to convert my motor. My question is can anyone tell me if Evinrude made a extra long shaft 90 HP in 1988? And if they didn't can anyone tell me if other similar sized and age of Evinrude engines had Extra long shaft driver that I could swap out.?
And or any Johnson engine that might have a extra long shaft drive? I'm hoping to find a parts motor to do the swap.

Evinrude and Johnson have different color paint.--------Several options.-----Bay manufacturing -----may offer an extension kit.----Or a donor XL shaft motor and install your powerhead.------V-4 crossflow from about 1980 to 98 are the option.

Thank you as I mentioned I’m looking to buy a parts motor to end up with a extra long shaft drive for my 88 90 HP. I’ve asked if anyone is familiar with what other models maybe compatible.

Even some V-6 models have the XL parts that you can use / might need.

Yes there are V-6 crossflow models that have XL parts ( exhaust housings ) same as the V-4 crossflow.
