1988 Evinrude Controls on a 1997 Merc 25 HP

Does anyone know if the remote steering control cables from an Evinrude are the same as the Mercury?<br /><br />Thanks in advance.

Steering cables are not brand-specific. Throttle and shift cables are.

Thanks WillyB! I was not sure on the steering cables; kind of remember now that the throttle and shift can differ in connections and push versus pull activation.<br /><br />I am selling my 97 Merc 25HP motor on eBay and one of the bidders asked the specific question.<br /><br />This is a GREAT forum!<br /><br />CaBassGuy
