just bought this outboard and it seems to run fine. I just don't see where the cooling water is exhausted out. Does it come out the exhaust port at the bottom?? Also, are these known to be decent outboards? Shows that it is made in Belgium. I bought it for my newly purchased (yesterday) 16' Coleman Scanoe. Thanks for replies.

Usually the water is pumped out of the back or side by the exhaust leg but this model might be different. As far as dependability omc has been around forever thus proving its superior status

Looking closer, I see that intake is a tiny screened slot right under the cavitation plate and water exhaust is thru the exhaust outlet just above and center of the cavitation plate. Looks to be plenty of cooling water coming out the exhaust. Nice little motor . Should make my Scanoe putt along nicely.

I hope the outboard gives you years of use but will only if necessary maintenance is taken. Using the proper fuel mix( a lesson you don't want to learn the hard way, I did) is key to long life.

Outboard says 100:1 ratio mix. Someone told me to keep it at 50:1. What to do?????

Definitely 50:1. Evinrude changed the recommendation back to 50:1.
Also, some water should be spitting out of the small telltale holes in the leg, above the water.
